Platform notes

Steam lists Windows support for the product page; macOS and Linux are not presented as available platforms in the store API snapshot used for this wiki. The experience is single-player with full controller support, Steam Achievements, and Steam Cloud called out among store categories.

Steam Deck: FromSouthGames announced Steam Deck Verified status on July 20, 2026—default Deck controls, legible UI at default scale, stable default graphics, no KB/M required. Deck compatibility is separate from the Windows spec tables above; see Steam Deck Verified for portable Operator guidance.

Performance advice for Operators

  • Prefer an SSD for faster streaming of facility assets and fewer hitch scares that are not intentional.
  • Prioritize stable frame pacing during desk scenes; sudden drops hurt radio readability.
  • Use headphones even on modest GPUs—audio clarity matters more than ultra settings for this design.
  • After launch, watch Patch Notes for performance hotfixes.

Confirm you can run the game, then learn to play via Getting Started, bind inputs on Controls, and grab the demo from Release & Demo. If you only need a vibe check, read the Review.

Interpreting the GPU line

GTX 1070 / RX 5600 XT class minimums suggest the game wants modern-ish DirectX 12 headroom even though the fantasy is “old consoles in a room.” Do not assume potato laptops will cope. If you are near minimum, install the demo first (Release & Demo) and watch frame pacing during desk scenes—stutters hurt radio readability more than raw average FPS.

Storage and audio devices

Twelve gigabytes is modest, but SSDs reduce hitch scares that are not authored. Any sound card works; headphones still matter for design reasons covered in Getting Started. Controller users should verify pads on Controls after driver updates.

Language install note

Steam lets you set interface and subtitle language per app. After changing language, fully restart the game so menus and prompts refresh—especially before the July 29, 2026 launch session. English ships the only full audio track; other languages use subtitles over English VO. Matrix and restart troubleshooting: Supported Languages.

After you clear the spec gate

Train on Operator Station, Terminals & Radio, and the Operator Checklist. Clear the preview with Demo Walkthrough. Recover soft-locks via How to Progress. Read tone on Review. Track Launch News and Patch Notes. Lore and media: Cassettes & Lore. Spoilers: Endings. Hubs: Overview, Guides, Systems, Tools, Updates.

Laptop caveats

Thin laptops that “meet” CPU names but share slow memory or weak cooling may still hitch. Cap frame rates for thermal stability during long desk scenes. Disable aggressive battery savers while playing. Confirm Windows power plan is balanced or high performance during radio-heavy segments. Controllers through docking stations can drop inputs—test on Controls. After launch drivers, re-check Patch Notes. Gameplay readiness remains independent of silicon: Getting Started, Operator Checklist, Terminals & Radio, Operator Station, Cassettes & Lore, How to Progress, Demo Walkthrough, Release & Demo, Review, Launch News, Endings, plus hubs Overview, Guides, Systems, Tools, Updates.

Post-purchase tuning

After install, lock a stable frame cap, set headphone default device, and verify controller wireless strength. Then ignore graphics rabbit holes until you finish a clean instrument loop using Terminals & Radio and the Operator Checklist.
